Jewish Wedding

Bride and Groom at a Jewish Wedding under the Chuppah at Beth Israel, with Rabbi Fuchs

Our clergy are skilled premarital counselors, who will meet with the couple before the marriage.

On the Shabbat of the week prior to the wedding ceremony, it is customary at Beth Israel for the couple to have an aliyah (the honor of reciting a blessing over the Torah reading). This aliyah is known as an ufruf.

During the marriage ceremony, the bride and groom can use our chuppah, a canopy held up by four poles.

Interfaith couples are welcome in our synagogue community.  Under certain circumstances,  interfaith couples may be married in our synagogue by Judges or Justices of the Peace.

Our clergy marry Jewish same-sex couples.

Our social halls are available for rental for celebration parties.

Contact Rabbi Michael Pincus, moc.liamgnull@sucnipibbar, 860-233-8215 x228 to discuss an upcoming marriage.
Contact Toni Robinson, Temple Administrator, gro.tcibcnull@nosnibort, 860-233-8215 x225, to discuss booking a hall.
