Service Schedule

Our Friday night Services usually start at 7:30 p.m. On the last Friday of the month, they start at 6:30 p.m. and are followed by a community dinner. Saturday morning Services are at 11 a.m. See the left hand column for additional Services that we offer regularly.

Visit our home page or subscribe to our email newsletter, Chai Lights, for updates on the Services we are holding during the coming week.

Children are welcome at all of our Services.
We also have special Children's Services.

Torah Study

Torah Study is a highlight at Beth Israel. A lively debate about the week's parshat is led by a member of the clergy every Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30. Opinions abound among the 20 to 30 particpants, and the hour is never enough time to explore all of the questions that rise from our readings.

Simcha Shabbat

Simcha Shabbat is a joyful Friday night service that celebrates each other's simchas. Our birthdays, our anniversaries, and the special events in our lives can have special meaning if they are acknowledged as part of our sacred community. Together we can express gratitude for the gifts of another year of being together and a caring congregational family.

You can share in other simchas as well: Is your daughter or son celebrating a birthday in an upcoming month? Do you know a couple who is celebrating a special anniversary? And you can do the same to honor any member who is a special friend, or to celebrate other Simchas of your own.

Of course, we truly prefer to have you join us for your Simcha Shabbat celebration, but homebound and out-of-town members can also find the support this program provides. Let others know of your celebration and enable them to give you a Mazel Tov and honor you with a contribution of their own to Congregation Beth Israel.

Just contact our office, 233-8215, or email bethisrael@cbict.org to make arrangements. For the Simcha Shabbat Form, click here.

CONGREGATION BETH ISRAEL HIGH HOLY DAY SERVICES
2009 / 5770

Our High Holy Days Services are open to the public, although some of our Services (see below) require a ticket to be seated in our sanctuary or social hall. Those unaffiliated with CBI are welcome to view our Services on closed-circuit TV in our Silberman Chapel. Members in good standing will receive tickets about two weeks before Rosh Hashanah. Children of congregants and students (with a valid student ID) do not require their own tickets.

Babysitting is available at all of our ADULT Services, but you MUST make advance reservations. Contact Sarah Beck, sbeck@cbict.org, 860-233-8215 x223 at least one week prior to the Service.
