Congregation Beth Israel’s Summer Reading Program for K-6 kids in CBI’s Youth Engagement Program (YEP) and our extended family in the congregation and community.
YEP and the Ellen Jeanne Goldfarb Community Learning Center at CBI encourage summer Jewish reading. Sefer Summer is an optional summer activity for YEP students in kindergarten through grade 6. Sefer Summer is also open to any interested families in the community.
The information below will help you get started:
- A worksheet for recording at least 3 titles (and authors) of Jewish themed books which you have read aloud to your young “person of the book” or the child has read independently. Click here for worksheet.
- Suggested reading lists for grades K-2, 3-4, and 5-6. Age ranges are included so you might find the right book for your child on any of the lists. Recommended books are available for checkout from CBI’s library and through Amazon purchase. Many can be downloaded.
